Hey guys, just wondering if any of yall have any suggestions about some veggies to feed my fishies. I've heard they're good for'em but not sure which ones to give them. Thanks! :)
P.S
I'd really like to get some freshwater shrimp for my aquarium but I dont want to get them then they end up just bein a snack for my other fish. I've got 4 large angels, 6 rainbows, 7 tetras and 3 yoyo loaches, will any of them try to eat the shrimp?

Zucchini and Cucumbers don't last through the night when I drop 'em in. Lettuce is also a fav in my community tank.
I'm pretty sure the angels will eat anything that'll fit into their mouths :). I think the rainbows and tetras are ok with shrimp, and I'm not sure about the loaches.

I've heard you need to microwave them for 20 seconds, is that true?

They will go to mush earlier if you microwave them.... I just attach them to a rock with a rubber band or as I saw at Arnolds jab them with a fork and let it hold them down.

Why do I see pieces of orange in the tanks at petsmart?

I'm sure the fish will nibble on them as well, but I normally try to sick with something green and non-citrus.
I don't microwave mine, I just have a suction cup clip.

Shrimp just need a lot of places to hid.... just means you do not get to see them as well.

Snails do a good job, but be careful which type you get if you have or want live plants ;).
Otos, Plecos, some catfish, and some loaches clean the gravel (to a point).

oh believe me I now ALL about the darn snails. I've got a planted tank and have been battleing with them for along time lol . My poor tiger lotus never had a chance (seemed to be their favorite) Thats why I got the yoyo loaches but they're still too small to get rid of them. so for now I have to deal with them :( I'd love to get some angelicus loaches but now that they're popular the prices for them are ridiculous

Actually, some snails are really good for the plants (of course the non-planting eating ones).
They turn the substrate, eat algea off the leaves, etc. If you get a snail eating fish they'll eat the good snails and the bad ones :) which might be the only way to get rid of the bad ones.
