I isolated a fish in a 10 gallon setup. Using plain Maracyn by Mardel and the water is really clouding up. I am using a HOB but have no filtering in there. We are into the third day of the pill. It says not to do water changes until treatment is done.
The fish is not feeling worse, and was actually quite active when I moved him last night to make sure not dead. He was holed up in a log.
I am thinking we should have used Maracyn Two or Maracyn Plus as the fish appears to have dropsy, was floating on side, having a hard time staying upright, hanging around on the bottom. No other symptoms though, nothing unusual about appearance except his eyes seems smaller to me now.....probably nothing. The eyes appear fine otherwise.
What would you all recommend I do, if I keep this boy on Maracyn for five days, change water,
and give him a few days break. If not getting better start him on Maracyn Plus?
ONe is gram negative infections and one is for gram positive infections. Figured we would cover all if using two back to back?
