most LFS carry it.

I haven't been to a LFS store lately other than R2R I know they carry it.

I used it daily for my Frontosa. I ordered it online from Mike B. in the Cypho.com forum. It was like $20 for 1lb shipping included.

My cichlids get a combo of NLS, Danichi VeggieFX and Hikari Excel, along with pure spirulina flake and HBH Super Soft Spirulina.

i read that normal fish food has a shelf life of 2-3 months, but NLS still has its nutritional value after 2-3 years.

I'm in the NLS 5lber club too. Saves a lot of trips, and consequently, money. lol With all the fishies I have, it was the most economical way to go. I feed it to the little ones as soon as they can eat it.

I also feed spirulina, Ocean Nutrician Cichlid Formula, seaweed, , algea wafers, lettuce, parsley, cucumbers, squash, spinach, frozen brine shrimp and frozen veggie mix.

Tell me they aren't spoiled! :hehe:

If you do buy in bulk, I suggest putting what you are going to use in a separate container and freeze the rest. Keeps it fresh.

You could put it in everyone's candy bag at the gtg.

I actually reseal all my Ken's food. I got sprilulina sticks, NLS, COlor Crumbles and something else. Mixed them up in a bowl and filled up an old NLS container for feeding. Then vacuum sealed the rest of the mix just like it comes from Kens....

Those foodsavers are worth every penny, if you've ever thought about buying one get it. You'll use it more than you know....

I love NLS! I use a mix of veggie flakes and either Dainichi Color Supreme or NLS, which are comparable, IMHO.

Hee, I got my spirulina flake at Jehmco ... a pound of it ... never realized how much food a POUND of flakes is!!!! I have it in 3 freezer bags, and a bag in the fridge, and a jar that I feed from by the tanks.

I also keep all my Danichi and NLS in the fridge, too. I have a jar that I mix a little of each "flavor" together in I keep by the tank and feed from.

I also grind it down with a spoon back and mix it with Firstbites for my fry, they love it.
