Ok Chris! Where to start: I am a Canadian that immigrated to Texas in '03. I have kept/bred many types of fish, mostly concentrating on discus and killis for the past 4 years. I was a moderator on the discus forum DAAH for a few years but left to do other things: primarily, I am the Discus specialist and Store Manager of The True Percula in Arlington, and the Treasurer of the Dallas Killifish Assoc.
I have a bad case of MTS (multiple tank syndrome) with 26 tanks at home, though 12 of them are 2.5 gal killi tanks. I am currently breeding:
Discus, my own strain at generation 2-3. (they won TCA first place in spring '07)
Jewel cichlids, 12 varieties of non-annual killis, german blue rams; angels in gold, black, koi and gold pearlscale; moscow purple and green guppies, and I am planning to try bettas next. I have a 55 gal tank that I am thinking about doing up as a natural filterless reef and two planted tanks, a 20 gal and a 135 gal.
I am mom to two daughters in college and one son in jr high.
I have a healthy sense of humour, love my job and staff, and it is a pleasure to see so many friends here on dfwfishbox!

Very glad your here, Catherine!
I'm toying with the idea of discus. Once I rehome the big boys in the 55 that is... I'll take advantage of all the experience that people are willing to share.

Hey Catherine! Welcome!!! Did you get the 135 done? Any pics?
Well, depends on your definition of done. I think planted tanks are ALWAYS a work in progress, with the exception of the Amano style tanks which look perfect right from set up. I am in the process of saving up to change out my lighting and replant the 135. The discus are HUGE in it right now, all about 8+" now. I have only about 7 discus in that tank. I will take pictures, but AFTER the reno!
