What kind of fish is this?

:confuzeld:I am trying to decide the type of fish that this is. I bought it when it was smaller and was told it might be a red empress, but now that it is bigger I don't think it is.

It looks like a hybrid....but I could be wrong.

I can promise it isn't a red empress, that picture makes it hard to say but for sure not a red empress. Here is one of my old red empress:

it does look similar to a red fin borleyi...

but really it looks like a hybrid...

I have a red fin....and mine doesn't look like that!

i dont believe its a red fin borley but i need a clearer picture borleys have small simple and minimum egg spotts so with better pic i can narrow it down.

It could possibly be a female electric blue (Sciaenochromis fryeri). I have a female that looks a lot like that pic.

Its not a good looking specimen of that fish. I would bet the house thats what it is.
