I have a 55 gallon tank and a 29 gallon tank. Both have cichlids. Here are a few of the ones I have. I will add pics as a reply to this thread.

Wow! You have a bunch of different types and all beautiful! Is that a Melanchromis Cyan in that second photo in the first bunch? I have a huge male that I am looking for some females for. He is about 6 inches long and the boss of the 55 gal. tank! Thanks for the photos!

I believe that it is a melanchromas johanni. This one has been a great fish. I named it bruiser since it is black and blue.

Aren't the cyano and the johanni essentially the same? You have a good assortment in your tanks. I need to add some more to my tanks, but right now I have too many Electric Yellows.

they are basically the same fish and commonly mistaken one for the other and vise versa.

You have a bunch of very pretty fish...is your tank really aggressive?

In the 3 group, the 3 picture...is that a Archer?
I can't really see it well but it reminds me of that.

It is a Leopard Ctenopoma. It is in the 29 gallon with some peacocks, a lelupi, an auratus and a couple of electric blues. In that tank I also have a bichir and a killifish. I also have the demasoni in there.

The Leopard Ctenopoma is really cool. If I sprinkle food on the plastic flip top of the hood and close it he will leap out of the water and thump it over and over again to get the food.

When I started with the cichlids I read somewhere that if you overstocked the fish you tended to cut down on the aggresive behavior because there is less room for them to lay out a territory. So far this has seemed true. I have increased the filtration in the tanks with two 55 penguins for the 55 gallon and a 55 gallon penguin for the 29 gallon. So far so good anyway. I have always kept the cichlids overstocked. (since I love buying new fish it is not hard to do)

This a golden hybrid peacock and it looks alot like this. We sold a pair or trio to someone up there and the same time you(Brandy) got all those fish from my brother.

It is a hybrid. The picture makes it look more orange than it is. It is more yellow in real life. He is one of my favorites.
