Came home tonight and was checking out the tank my Agazzi are in and notice the female was real yellow almost translucent.... and thought SOB she is sick.... then I started thinking that I had read when they are ready to lay eggs they turn colors.... sure enough she is laying eggs.... looks like she is trying to get the male under a piece of drift wood where she has a little cubby hole....

Does not look like the male is very interested but hey it is a start.... :D

I took some pictures I will upload tomorrow.

Hi All apistogramma females turn yellow some are briter than others. Agassizi females when in brood mode get yellow with a single black spot in center of body first rays of dorsal fin are dark black and the ventral fins are dark black it take 3 days to wrigglers then another 8-10 till freeswimming around 11-13 days total. Here is a pic of an agassizi brood coloration

I am pretty sure my female is on eggs.... she is guarding her little hut like mad. It is really funny to watch. She kicked the crap out of a pleco and my female dwarf gourami.
