This photo was taken when he was about 5 ins. Now he's a big boy 8-9 inches. Still very shy and skittish though. I need a name :o

Very cute little fish. He wasn't shy as a youngster apparently. He's all up on the glass! lol

Being a cajun girl- I call it: Bichir BAYOU!
OT: It's supposed to be a 75 gal but it sprung a leak. So if anyone has a spare 75, I'll buy it. He'll outgrow this tank soon enough.

Absolutely love bichirs. I have two baby senagal bichirs, one albino. They are growing up together in a 380 community tank. Cant wait till i have the problem of them trying to eat their tankmates

I had a baby senagal once ...at 3in....he was already eating platies at that size. He is a pill. Very outgoing and he now lives with a trio of older 3 spot gouramis... I swear he thinks he's one of the pack. Even the elder female seems to coddle him with her 'feelers' at times.

In that com.tank we have platies, numerous small cats, facy goldfish, dojo loaches, dwarf frogs, i forget what all. So they are already 3 to 3.5 inches so they should be big enough then, but they only seem interested in bloodworms and shrimp pellets. Oh well when they clean the tank out it will become more of an aggressive tank. Had to set it up as community to to keep her happy. Come on daddy wants you bichirs to get evil. :hehe:
