I am so happy, I'd never be able to put it into words so have a look for yourself!
Please tell me what to do next...I have 3 Bloodfin Tetras in there and another pair (maybe male/male) of BRs in the tank...I've heard I can put them all in the 100g community, is that true? I'd really like to have just the family in the 20g as I've heard that it'll have a real good turn out if the parents aren't stressed.

Rams do fine in a community setting. I have 2 and they just do their own thing.

HOLY SMOKES...how cool is that! I have tried rams several times down through the years and have never had luck any with them. I cant semm to even keep them alive long enough to breed. I think its because my water is too hard. Congrats on the spawn and resulting fry. And by the way, awsome pics and video.

Most excellent, Misty! You and Dave must be the proud grandparents! Yeah, the video is awesome, and your male is SO protective.

Haiven,
He is isn't he? I love it! I don't think he would be if they were the only ones in there...there wouldn't be a reason too.
Let me give the whole story...the other night I was putting a suction clip thingy on the air hose and I got nipped a few times but I figured it was because I was messing around where they were at the back.
Last night I was removing some plant matter from the tank and they kept nipping my hand. I thought it was great but I never put the connection together from the other night and last night.
This morning I had a whole long post typed out about how they're suddenly at the front of the tank being brave and all that, still hadn't put the connection together. I was going to add a picture and I was putting the card in the camera when my mil called. I talked to her for about 30 minutes and then climbed down on the floor with my camera. They were in the front observers right corner so that's where I was aiming but I noticed that he was getting worked up and stirring stuff up on the bottom. I freaked a bit because there shouldn't be any stuff on the bottom...upon closer inspection, it wasn't stuff at all, it was the babies.:D I have three smooth flat stones, a piece of driftwood and a coconut hut in there...I never saw any eggs.
As for moving the other two out, I'm not going to this round. I want to keep the parents alert so the other two, as long as they don't get hurt, will stay in their with them. I did pull out the Bloodfins though, they're in the big tank now. Tetras are too fast and with three of them, plus the other two BRs, I figured it'd be too much for fist time parents. I don't know...maybe not, lol.
Thank you for the compliments on the pics. All I do is put it on Macro with the flash and take the pic at an angle off the tank. Half the time I use a tripod. I wait for the middle of the night (chronic insomniac) and I turn out all the lights. I just use a little Nikon CoolPix 4600...maybe 10 shots out of every 50 will make the cut, lol.
Mongo,
After everything I read, I thought these guys would be pickier than I could handle but I forged on with it anyway. I haven't been hovering over the tank and they only had a 10g filter (it's a 20g tank) but as long as I rinsed it and changed the water, things were fine. They have two 10 filters now though. I only do a weekly water change and I test weekly too. I haven't had anything wrong...
BUT, aside from what I'm not doing, things must be working for them.
Thanks again everybody...

Wow Misty, that is awesome. I enjoyed the video! And I agree that the rams would be fine in a community tank. It has been a while since I have owned any, but mine were fine in a community.

Thank you! I'm really excited to see how this goes...
I'm leaving the other two in there for now. There's nothing more than some chasing but they sticking to their word and not doing any damage. If it comes to it, and as the fry grow, I'll change my mind and add them to the community.
Daddy's just as fiesty as he was the first day but he's finally getting used to me peering in, lol. I turn the lights off several times a day though because he never rests and I don't want them stressed and not taking care anymore. When the lights come back on, there's a nice cluster of babies all in a neat little pile so I figured it's esier on him. I haven't counted but it doesn't look like we've lost too many...that'll change, I'm sure, as the babies get more active. There's good light in here though so even when the lights are out, there's plenty in the tank.
Thanks again!:D

Sad update...
No more babies. The other two raided the fry pit, it was all a frenzy in there. I'm fixing to test the water in the 100g and make sure it's within the Rams liking and I'll move them over there if/when it is. I'm not sure about doing it but everyone says it'll be ok...it just seems wierd with different types of fish.
At least I know I've got a pair and they're both really excellent parents!
