Petsmart usually carries "Pea Puffers" they stay pretty tiny & get along with other fish fine for the most part.

Dwarf or Pea puffers are very small freshwater puffers. They only get to an inch in length. There are also SAP (south american Puffer) which get to about 3 inches. A relatively peaceful puffer which can be kept in groups. It has been reported that the South American Puffer is a schooling fish in its natural habitat. They are also freshwater puffers. REd Eye puffers (freshwater)..about 3-4 inch and can be really cool but you can only keep one in an aquarium.

Check out the Puffer forums and Pufferpedia (http://www.thepufferforum.com/forum/ug.php/v/PufferPedia/)

Most of the ones that I have seen at Peco and Walmart have been figure eight puffers and green spotted puffers. Both of those I believe are brackishwater.

Every forum participant should spend a month on the Puffer Forum so we can learn how NOT to treat stupid questions, repetitive questions, etc.

I gravitated towards Boxermom (go figure)- then she got the fahaka...and it was all over.

but for the record- her's is about 6 months older than Peanut, so if you wanna see what peanut/pickle will look like at the next age level- check out hers.

I may have missed something...but couldn't you just give it smaller snails??? Or does eveyone HAVE to file their puffer's teefus?

guppyfreak2
08-21-2008, 03:24 PM

I looked a bit (until I got rudely interrupted by someonethat wanted me to actually work!)...but I couldn't find out how to actually file their teefus

a few drops of clove oil in a small quarantine, puts the fish 'asleep' and you trim with nail clippers, maybe infant nail clippers, for the smaller guys
