so i have a striped catfish... and i've had it in my tank for going on a month, i've never bought anything for it to eat though because the pet store i got it from told me that it just ate scraps off the gravel. so i've been reading up on all of my fish and the on line literature i find tells me that it likes to hunt at night and eat small fish. as far as i know, all of my fish are fine but i don't know if it's getting all of the nutrition that it deserves now. do you guys suggest i get maybe some feeder shrimp or food tablets? if so, what kind of tablets would a striped catfish prefer?

oh and for those of you that don't know what a striped catfish is i have taken the liberty to find a picture of one for you.. mine is too skitish and i don't ever see it out from under it's log during the day.

Got to ebay look for stuff called Cr45%, it is cheap. Our catfishes, inculding the ones in our ditchpond tear it up! If we want to see our catfish or loaches, I put this in the water. I have not met a fish that doesn't tear it up. J&J aquafarms is the company, did I mention cheap. 3lbs for like 12 bucks or so with s/h.

this is a direct quote from planetcatfish.com......"All aquarium fish foods, sinking catfish tablets offer the best method of getting food to the fish. Bloodworm and high protein dry food are also favourites. Try delivering food at night"

My bumble bee catfish are suposed to be somewhat simialr just smaller.... the eat algae tablets like no body's business.... nothing better then to drop them in there and watch the pleco and catfish fight for the tablets..... Both fish as skidish the catfish do not like the light at all so when the tablets fall in the light you will see them and the plecos eyeballing it.... then a mollie comes in and takes it away.... good times....

sinking shrip pellets work well for my catfishes but some time the pellets get ate by the tinfoils.. blood worms and turflex worms work too.
