I have not been able to log on since yesterday,with either IE or Firefox, and there are others who couldn't either. When I finally was able to log back on, I could not find an explanation, though Jesse said the box had switched to a new server. What gives?:mad:

chill- we had problems with the server we moved too (a few weeks ago). Blake found a better gig and found out the move would take just a few minutes- so he did it. I for one appreciate his proactiveness and am not gunna say SHEOT about "not being forewarned". As with any move- there will be glitches. I got an email and the link worked. Check your email addy's because I know for a fact it was sent.

Then say "Thank you" for moving us to a better, faster server. :p:

We did move to a new server. Much faster, much better, etc. so appreciate it.

got the msg on the website saying you guys were switching servers.
got the email linking to the ip address of the new server and it worked fine.
a few hours of downtime is pretty good when switching servers...backing up a website and moving it isnt a easy thing, and DNS doesent propagate (http://www.mdwebhosting.com.au/support/wiki/index.php?title=DNS_Propagation&redirect=no) as fast as ppl would like it to

Why is there so much hateful remarks going about? I don't consider myself to be a regular complainer on this forum, and the couple of times(including this time) I did, I felt my complaint was legit. I could not access the box to even see a notice about the server transfer, I didn't receive an email, and so I was left to wonder what was going on. I have seen people here get away with much worse on lesser complaints. Now that I know what the problem was, I am grateful to Blake and Shane for the hard work they did to correct it, but I don't feel I deserve to be treated like that for making a simple complaint that was shared by several people. I am sorry if I offended, but I was offended too about the lack of notice but especially by some of the nasty remarks I have read in this thread in response to my question. I remember back in the day when everyone was real supportive, but now I keep seeing these hateful replies and I do have to wonder what in the hell is going on?

Well I think SAP has a special understanding of what's going on behind the scenes to do a server move (as in the DNS takes a while to catch up, which is why no one could access the site via www.dfwfishbox.com), so knew what to expect once the site came back online (as in we'd still have a few things that don't work quiet right).

I also think his comment "quit bitching they did a good job" was meant as a joke and may not have been taken that way. If it was or was not doesn't matter... we all know: if you didn't appreciate the site you wouldn't be here, so WE do appreciate everyone's comments and feedback.

Just know, we're on top of the problem expressed within this thread and we'll get them worked out. But please keep us up to date on any problems you have or experience so we can get them fixed.
