steve- change the title to "True Percula: Grand Opening" and give some info about when and where. I'll sticky it.
I haven't heard much about the date and whatnot. But I would LOVE to go on opening day or saturday- whichever. I like Catherine and want to show my support.

I "think" they are supposed to be opening today @ 11. That's what I read "elsewhere"...
I have no access to "other" places- please grab it and let's update so we're in the loop. Thanks!!

We ARE READY! But please don't all show up all at once, our cashiers will have a stroke!!
The True Percula hours:
Tuesday-Saturday, 11am-8pm
Sunday-12-5pm
Monday: CLOSED.. (we have to sleep sometime!)
This is our SOFT opening, the GRAND opening with all of the sales and festivities will happen at a later to-be-determined date. As you may know, an Independant store takes a lot of work to open, not like the chains.. So please be patient if it is very busy and you need to wait a bit for assistance! We have a fair number of staff coming on board, but the newer ones still will be learning our particular style.....
Please introduce yourself to me, and Holly (ladydragon) when you come in!!

I liked it, probly rate it # 2 or 3 in my preferences in the metro. Its brand new so ya got to give em a little time to work out the bugs. Fish were a little high but not overly so in most cases, plants were priced good, hardware was priced all wrong, way to high, but I hear they will fix that. Some fish selections need to improve but for the most part I say give em a go, its worth being in there with the stores you visit at least for now. Time will tell but I see good vibes behind the place and that can make a big dif sometimes.

It was good, clean, nice displays, fish looked healthy and prices seemed to in right about where they should be. I think it is a good shop just a little far for me.

Stopped by on Sunday with my Daughter. Great layout. I look forward to getting my planted tank up and running so I bring a few of the fantastic discus home. Nice work, great store!

I was by there yesterday, thats where I got the C02 gizmo I am trying. They always have lots of discus, probly out of Singapore but nice looking and usually cheaper than the Stendker. The Stendker have gone down hill just a tad once Hanns went all wholesale and no more retail. I know its a money thing and he is doing what he needs to do to stay viable, but the fish were nicer when they were coming straight from him and not going through a shop. He brings them in from Germany I believe and some of the adults he was selling were absolutely fantastic. And his prices were terrific for what you got. If you want Stendker you need to find a store that carries them, (I think thats what tp has for the most part but you would have to ask Catherine) or a breeder. I saw some nice $25 dollar fish at USA, about silver dollar size.

Have you been in the back? I was honestly floored. He has 5 rows of discus fish that are breeding...you can see the mated fish with the fry swimming around. You have to look closely, they are the size of ants. There had to be at least a few hundred discus fish in the back.

I was at True Percula last Saturday. Fish seemed healthy on the whole, had some hard-to-find livebearers, and GORGEOUS plants. Picked up a couple types of plants I hadn't seen before and trying them out. I can't wait till they start selling some of those enormous swords!
Staff was helpful and friendly, store was clean. We're planning on heading back in a few weeks to see what else they have.
