My pair of angles have been spawning on a regular basis for a long time now. The last few days or so they have been fighting like crazy. Are they tired of each other? I'm afraid they are going to kill each other or something. Chasing, fin nipping, ramming into glass: both parties guilty. Is it a passing domestic violence case, or should they be separated?:confuzeld:

SO what you think about the angels? They were lovey-dovey this morning. NO clue why they want to kill each other sometimes.

haha, yea yea yea. But really, you think there is any reason to be concerned or separate?

I've never kept Angels.
The first thing I'd personally do- is Call Canh :D and ask him. Or Ricci- I think he likes/keeps the angels. But I'd ask their two cents.

If it were my Dwarf Cichlids- I'd split them for a spell and put them back together in a week or two.

If that doesn't work :confuzeld:

Mine do this often after laying eggs. It usually goes on for a day or so. I always chalked it up to stress. Typically it involves them eating the eggs first.

Yea, they have been doing it every couple of days to every day over the last few weeks, not just after laying eggs. I hear them ramming each other into the glass before I go to bed, but then later they are swimming around with each other and acting fine. There were a few nipped fins a few days ago, but no real injuries. And they do it to each other, so one party is not just being aggressive to the other. They are locking mouths a lot and fighting some too. Typical cichlid behavior I suppose, just never saw it manifested so much in angels, and all of a sudden. Probly doesn't help they are in a hex tank, not very wide to get away from each other. I would move them to my 29 long, but I'm afraid they would bully my keyholes. They just fight on and off, but then are fine with each other. I'm hoping I don't need to separate. Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions or reason to worry you think?

I shot about half a gulp of iced tea and an ice cube out my left nostril when I read that. And the ice cube was the home grown variety...not Sonic ice.
