So I have a 75 basically sitting empty, besides a couple black skirt tetras in it. I haven't fully decided what to put in it, but I got to thinking about a planted discus tank.

I totally love discus...expecially those med. size melon colored with orange stripes! I think you oughta go for it...and let me know how it turns out. I'll expect pictures! ;)

Yeah definitely go see Catherine. I saw some of the Stendker Bred Discus they brought into the true percula. Very nice!
Chris I don't know if Cath knows about us or not. I can't very well go mentioning it to her anywhere else. :confuzeld: Would love to have her over here, her knowlegde of discus & killies would be a valuable inclusion to the board.

I talked to Catherine about doing a planted Discus tank....and she said she doesn't recommend discus tanks to be planted....cause of how clean you have to keep their tank.

Catherine and I have talked a lot about me going Angel and Discus with my 90. I'll be getting some Angels from her soon (actually her son's, but she has them) and then will work on getting the Discus 101 from her.

She told me she'd be happy to help me out and was glad to see I still plan to do the tank in that direction.

I talked to her about 2 weeks ago and at that time told her about this site. She was happy to see a new site and was pretty frustrated regarding the "other" site. I think she's pretty busy with the store right now so not a lot of time to post, but when I go visit her I'll be sure to let her know we'd really like to have her input here ;).

I'm definitely up for a Catherine visit. Count me in 100%.

Skipp, is that your 75, or is that just a pic you found on the net? Freaking awesome tank either way!!!

Still need to find some bog/drift wood root looking pieces (like in the picture above), so lemme know if you see any.

That tank looks big and long.
