What kind are these?

I got these and I was told they are African Jewel, do they look like that?

hard to tell when they're that small... but I think they kinda look like a jewel.

Definitely Jewels. Not sure what species. They arent as aggressive as people say-especially in larger tanks. If those are H. cristatus or lifallili, they will be very nice fish. Stay small and are super colorful.

Hard to believe these little guys(and gals) could turn into something so colorful. They look so plain.

yea I know, my first reaction was that they didn't look anything like them, even when young. They do get pretty

not sure who you were directing that towards Blake, but I don't have any. Look at the thread under Tank Setups called " The 55- 8 pics" or something. Misty has a pair of Jewels that are beautiful. It's a great pic of them too.

Nice fish...are they aggressive or mild aggressive?

I think they can get pretty pissy, esp. when spawning. I have never kept them though.
