Well, tonight I pulled the Anubias, one Java Fern, and the Java Moss, which had all gotten the black brush algae, though the Anubias was the worst.
Ripped them from the tank, draining some of the tank water with them:
1) To make re-planting easier
2) To go ahead with a partial water change
3) To keep from shocking them SO much with the bleach
So I used a 5% bleach, 75% tank water, 20% tap water solution, enough to cover the plants. I set the timer for 4 minutes, rinsed, dechlorinated, rinsed, rinsed, rinsed, re-planted.
The Java Fern appears to be completely devoid of the algae now. On the Anubias and Java Moss, what's left is now grey-white in color, so I'm hoping it will die off, and, in the meantime, some of my faster-growing plants (Val, Hygro) will keep it from taking hold. It (algae) really wasn't growing that much anyway, but I felt a need to nip it in the bud before I started getting fish and such. Also, if I screwed anything up with the solution or anything, then all I'd be out are some ghost shrimp.
