My kenyii females will change from blue to the orangy male color when they are holding. It surprised me too, when I saw the color change.

thats odd. I didn't know they did that.

Yeah, I think I read that they do that to try and fool the males into not bothering them. They go to slinking around and hiding too. Mine never got that nice blue back, but it could be because I have a very aggressive and horny alpha male.
