Has anyone had any experience w/ importing bettas? I read onsite that they are prone to parasites and was wondering what to do about them. I have imported several, most are doing very well, but a couple do well for a couple of weeks and then start to get a little listless and their appetite decreases. Any suggestions?:confused::confused:

bacteria in my tank is going to be different than bacteria in yours. I think this explains many new fish deaths. Always a good idea to quarantine. While there you can dose em with formaldehyde and then metro to insure they're clean.

I'm new to using chemicals - where do you get those and what would they be sold as?

Thanks for the info. I'll give that a try. I just lost my red HM tonight - he just lost his appetite and 10 days later he was a goner! They seem to do great at first and then just start to fade away. I'll send Jim a PM in a minute.

I got some sent from Thailand off aquabid.com. You have to go through a transhipper.
