I'm still trying to figure out what is/was wrong with the 100g and I got to thinking that there's no carbon in the filter. We do have fluff and hollow tube media in it though. Can you use carbon in that filter and would it make a difference in the ph level?

Thanks

You can use carbon in the Fluvals. We put it in nylon mesh bags, and lay it in one of the trays.
I don't think carbon will help with PH, but peat moss will. You could do the same with the peat moss, just load up one of those nylon mess bags and lay it in one of the trays of the filter. Keep in mind, it will discolor the water, but the carbon should help with that.

Sorry, I missed that part.

In that case,
load that puppy up with holey rock!

Yep, the ph is too low (thank you greeneyed), it keeps dropping back down to 6.0 no matter what I do.

I guess I'll have to add some Holey Rock...I hope the fish like it.

Thank you for the help!
