View Full Version : Custom Tank Question
Hi Everyone,
I am not sure if this is the right place to post, hopefully it is.
I am thinking about a custom glass tank and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations for someone/company local?
Not a big tank (24x14x15)...
Thank you for any help you can send my way!

Glasscages.com makes alot of custom tanks, they are not local but I believe they have a regular route that goes through dallas where you can meet their driver to pick up your tank at a lower than normal shipping charge....might be something to look into if you can't find someone local to make your tank
So close I know! but I need to be at 14-15 tall as 12 inches too short and a 29 it too tall at 18inches... and I'd really like the extra depth. The Mr. Aqua 17.4 is very close (just not on the depth) And then the breeders are too deep...

There is a builder on dallasmas.org, might want to check there... or you can go retail route(Fish Gallery), very costly but it can be done.
Satyra - I have looked at them but the reviews online are not great and I called them and their not to friendly (IMO) as well as I'd rather support someone local. I do appreciate your suggestion though!
I have always meant to ask you - your avatar - what is it? A pleco? cracks me up every time I see it roflmaoand I had a dream about it a few weeks back. I was at my kitchen Island it was talking to me, told me the chicken was over cooked!
Duff added 1 Minutes and 25 Seconds later...
Typical Tony - thanks I will check that out! Yeah, last resort but always an option.

If your handy enough you could price the glass and put it together yourself.
Dalco glass is a company I've used before might wanna call them
I used glasscages for my custom 100g and they did great work on my tank (I chose the starphire low-lead glass and black silicone, which looked a lot better than some of their other tanks I've seen). I didn't have much trouble with their customer service. They CALL you for CC information after you approve their quote on custom work. I met the driver, no issues. Tank worked great for as long as I had it (sadly, it had to go before the big move). Maybe you should consider having a custom acrylic tank in that space you have to fill. Sounds like a good option.
Satyra - funny little pleco, he likes his chicken undercooked :tease: in my dream he was blue and fuzzy like a muppet though....
jl - I thought about that but have 10 other projects in front of this one that need completing and I am not confident in my skills!
Oowl - its nice to hear a good story, thank you for sharing - maybe I just have to get over their "tone" on the phone - I felt like I was a bother to them but I suppose the end product is really the main point

There are a few local builders.
Both acrylic and glass.
PM me, and I will dig up some names for you if you want.
