Large 1000 gallon SPS reef tank, has to be at least 4 feet wide and 48 inches tall and 8 feet long. That would be my dream tank.

my dream is to have a saltwater tank period. haha.
I want another seahorse tank again. The tank I have now was chosen for that ultimate goal, but I'm not going to have them until I can be there more for their care (mx on a seahorse tank is pretty robust since they require so much food so you're doing a LOT more water changes than in a regular SW or reef tank). Of all the fish or corals I've ever kept since obtaining my first SW tank in 1990, the seahorse is my absolute passion.

Bigez, that tank you showed is beautiful. There's one VERY similar to that at Fish2Morrow in Fort Worth. I hope you've been there to see that.

dream tank? more like tanks.
1) octopus tank
2) mini reef, predominately rics (working on it)
3) sharks and rays
4) seahorses
In order of which I will pursue.

Hye OOwl,
If you haven't been to Sealife at Grapevine Mills yet... they have several tanks with different seahorse species in them. was there last night and the girl was telling me to give them a few minutes and we might see them doing the mating dance. they just had about 500 babies born that are now in the back in QT. alas, no mating dance but they were still cool to see up close.

I have done the reef thing, the marine predator, and eels. I love eels! The only sw in my future plans now is an octopus tank. I havn't decided what species yet. I am thinking setting it up alien themed. I have a stainless steel framed, commercial lobster tank that would work perfect. I just don't have the room for anymore setups in this house. We are looking for a new house already so it won't be too long.:D

oooh wow that looks awesome! i would def NOT mind having that in my house :D
my dream is to have a saltwater tank period. haha.
mine too! the reason i set up this tank was because 1 - i got the tank for free from a friend, and 2 - ive read that if you can maintain a reef you should be able to keep a cuttlefish, so thats what im trying to do :D
I love longhorn cowfish and snowflake eels-- I'd love to have a tank with these in it!
we saw a 150gal with a BIG snowflake eel, it was gorgeous! very cool personality too!
I've had everything from lionfish to sharks to rays and a giant reef. think my favorite would be my eels.
how are sharks to keep? idk if i would ever get one, but they sure are cool to look at. my own personal prob with keeping them is i dont think i could ever have a tank big enough for even the small ones :( same issue for me with rays, id LOVE to have one but just dont know if i would feel good about myself since they like to "roam" alot....

i love those guys too! if i ever have the space for a smaller display sw tank id love to try a pair of seahorses. Id def get CB breds too :D

My dream tank would be 12'x4'x5', which is around 2200g. Would either put a Hugh reef or a couple of sharks and a dragon moray eel

Mine would be kind of like the sw display tank at the fish gallery - the one that flows around in a rectangle. The main difference is that instead of walking around the tank to see it, the tank would actually wrap around the room. Think of a 14' x 14' room with a tank that goes from the walls inward about 3' and depths anywhere from a foot to maybe even 4 feet. Also, if you've ever seen the upside down tank within a right side up tank idea, I want to put a corner bow front upside down in one corner of the room all the way up to the ceiling. I've thought this through so well that this room would have to be a basement room so people could enter by walking down stairs over one side of the tank just to get into the room to see this it.
