Today I collected a few sword plants growing in a stream near my house in Mesquite, TX. Just curious if anyone may know what type they could be.
Thanks in advance :)

Most likely Sagittaria platyphylla.
Nice looking plant. Submerged or emersed ?

They were emersed.
Nice plant for paludarium.

That is definitely not a sag!
I'm thinking kleiner bar? or a young melon? or what Richard said.

I grow S. platyphylla, and that plant is a dead ringer for the species, even down to the arrangement of stems on the flowering stalk, and the way the new flower is emerging from the rosette. Sagittaria change appearance radically between the submersed and emersed forms.
Echinodorus cordifolius is a possibility, but has bur-like fruit, and usually has plantlets on the flowering stalk.
Nice pictures, DC.

Thanks for all the great comments. Just got a new NEX-5 camera and still learning how to use it.
