I'm getting the following: "This website wants to run the following add-on: 'Remote Data Services Data Control' from 'Microsoft Corproation'. If you trust the website and the add-on and want to allow it to run, click here..."

I get it when I navigate around the site. Anybody else getting this? What's it for?

Hmm weird I don't but I'm using Firefox. Maybe Blake will have an idea what it is. I opened it up in IE7 and got it but don't know what that is.:confuzeld:

I'm running IE7 too. A Google search didn't produce a lot of info.

I have not seen this however I do not really use IE7. I will check it when I get home. There are a couple things that I am working on fixing to help some of the performance issues on the forum.

I am on IE6 right now because my office does not allow anything else, and it is a little on the slower side of things. I hope to have things fixed tomorrow or Wednesday at the latest.

So just ignore that message or install the activex control?

Apparently, some virus programs are seeing it as a trojan horse program. Another forum pointed to the MS site, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q266886/, for info, but it's dated 2004... Not real current, especially since I'm running Vista.

I don't think I'll install this little gizmo. :)

I get that error as well. My virus scanners are picking it up as a virus.

Michelle is experiencing a similar problem

IE6: wants to run (any media player-Real Player in her case) and is getting an error message back. Error message is for each item- so there are repeated errors.

She can't post and can't see anything. She's off line til it's resolved.

I can't use the back button either. I have to use the "DFWFishbox" link at the top to go back.

my best guess is to sit tight a couple days. It's not the admins fault, but it should get resolved once they finish with the process.

Sorry for the headache.

Yeah it sucks for sure, I have no idea where or why its here, thanks for bringing it up though as I wouldn't have seen it using firefox.

That's what I'm getting...same as Michelle, I guess.
If I click the "Repair Database", I live to see another page click here but it'll come up again on every page.
The second window is what I got when I clicked "More Info".

After a little research, definetly don't install what it is asking for. I'm trying to find out what this is...:confuzeld:

Is there any way to put this caution in a banner on the home page? Not everybody will look here and may d/l it.

I haven't gotten any messages or anything, but I can't use my back button either.

Another group I am in was using this vBulletin for their forums and the whole thing crashed about 2 weeks ago. I haven't heard what the problem was, so I don't know if it was the program itself that had the problem or if someone messed up doing something. I hadn't been on there for a few days, but from what I heard they were having a few problems for a couple of days and then the whole thing went down. Hopefully that won't be a problem here.

I'm also getting the ActiveX message and all I can find is that it "Microsoft Data Access - Remote Data Services Dat..." is a generic message from IE and it's not from Microsoft.

Everything I find on the subject says NOT NOT INSTALL it.

I simply clicked the "X" on the right hand side and have not got the box again.
