Hey all you crazy Aquarist!!! My name is Tom... I have been involved with fish and aquariums for about 20 years now. ANd I finally found a reason to use those years of experience.

What I do is strictly on a charitable basis. Let me explain. I have a retarded twin brother 41 years old who lives in a group home enviroment, and I have a couple tanks in 2 different group homes. A 80 gallon cichlid a 55 gal. community and a couple 10 and 20 gal. but I am wanting to set up tanks in the other group homes for the younger children (great therapy for them) I donate everything to them and service them on weekends. Just my way of supporting the group homes for the mentally challenged.

So anything I can get my hands on, i graciously accept, be it from filters to tanks and even fish ect... They are having a new homes open in the next couple weeks and I just thought it would be great to do something for the new homes in allen.

Guys I can go on and on and tell you stories of how they help me set them up and service them and even naming ALL the fish, sometimes forgetting the names by morning they are naming them again. I hear stories from parents, and it takes them away from the TV and video games. IT WORKS!!!!

I can offer the names of the group home and addresses if needed, I just want to do more the other homes they have and opening. I can assure you it all goes to a great cause and the kids would appreciate anything that keeps this going.

That is wonderful. I set up a tank at my Great Grandmothers retirment home, and they all loved it! I have a friend that is looking to get rid of some mollie babies, if you're interested. :)

Creating and maintaining tanks for group homes is awesome and noble. I'd love to donate to this cause!

I have mollies, a net or two, colored gravel, some flagstone, about 10 six-inch tiles and quite a few components for undergravel filters that I've received with tanks I bought and never used.

Yes, welcome to the site!

Sounds like an awesome thing you have going there :D.

Definitely keep an eye on the FREEBIE section as I see lots of stuff go through there that would be useful to your cause.

Also, let us know if you're in need of anything specific as it might prompt someone to do an early upgrade so you can have the equipment you need ;)!

Hiyas, glad to see you back! Hope your surgeries were a total success... I know sometimes they can be iffy.
I don't have much "extra" equipment, and I just made Brandy take all my extra gravel & plants... but, I can donate time on weekends if needed. I'm in North Plano, so Allen is real close to me.

I want to thank everyone that has been sooooo gracious to the cause. To the guys who serviced my tanks while I was down. THANK YOU!!! And thank you for the well wishes on the back surgeries. It would had only taken 1 surgery if I werent so stubburn...(ladies, dont say it) Anyways, I feel pretty good and Im back at it again. If you guys want to keep a side box of things you wont be needing, upgrading or just trashing, let me know, I can make frequent rounds.
