I have something similar to this:
http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2753028&lmdn=Fish+Filtration+%26amp%3B+Circulation#prodTab 1
An internal filter and in it I placed by bag of Chemi-pure elite. I don't know if this is working because 1) The bag is needing to be replaced 2) daily red slime algae buildup.
Should I look into purchasing phosban? Wait until my new bag of elite comes in? Can i continue to use my internal filter as a media reactor? The filter is rated 90-125 gph.

get a sock and throw the chemi pure elite in there, it'll get more contact with the water coming down from the tank...

I saw this.. but I've read negative reviews about it being made of aluminum vs iron.. and iron being the lesser of two evils.. aluminum leaches and affects leather corals blah blah
given the option to go the phosban or rowaphos...
Here is the article:

angel510 - I'm not opposed to trades, but given the information, at this time I'm going to pass on the phosguard trade. If there is anything else you would want to trade, PM me and we can probably work something out.
Or if you have some phosban or rowaphos :D I will definitely trade.. or any of the other items I've been looking for that's listed at the bottom of my FS thread.

whats made out of aluminum? chemi pure? or the brs GFO?
phosban and rowa gets expensive, best to stick with BRS stuff. Tons of people use them and have plenty of success.

everything you stated, is iron based, phosguard is the only aluminum based product.

oo ive used it with no problems... stuff only leach out if you leave it in there for too long. Depending on your bioload, id changed mine out every week but it became a hassle thats why i stopped using it. It's the same with other GFO products, just got to know when to take it out and replace it. I think the brs is every 2 weeks.
