I got these the other day. There are 3 more cichlids but they were hiding and I couldn't get a shot of them. Please excuse the dirty glass. Didn't no it was that bad untill I saw the photos.

I really don't have a clue!!:confuzeld: I've been trying to find out. I'm taking the photos up to this guy I know at Petco on plano and Spring Valley. He said he might be able to help me out with that.

OIC, is this a "Help me ID these fish" type thread?

At any rate those are some good looking fish in all of the pictures ;), nice finds.

The dark one in the third pic is a Bumble Bee cichlid, and you'll love it. I had one that grew rather large (mine was 8-9½") and had a bit of an attitude, she was best friends with a Trimac, lol. They get fat way fast so watch it's intake, they like to be hogs. They develop a girth like no other!

They have the ability to turn black so they can raid egg nests in dark caves. The use it to "hide" from the parents until they're right on the nest and then the feeding frenzy begins and is over in seconds!

Great looking additions!

First pic looks like a sailfin or featherfin cat. They're cool. Not experienced enough with cichlids to ID any others, but I'm sure someone can help.

the light purple on with the yellow fins is a:
Metriaclima greshakei
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=794

Heres a link to the bumble bee or Pseudotropheus crabro :
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=845

You bumblebee is a mature male as the female and young males are yellow and black (hence the name bumblebee)

Like I said I had no idea what they were. I've been going through the Cichlid forum for the past few night. There is another cichlid in the take that I can not seem to get a photo of. It is mush smaller than the other. it's about 3 inch. Dark in color like the bumble bee with Vertical stripping. It doesn't look like the Bumble Bee, it's head is shaped differently. Shaped more like the other fish in the same photo. The plecos are huge, between 6 and 7 inches on the larger one. Not sure if I am keeping all of the fish. I think there are too many in the tank.

The little one that I was taking about seems to be a bit shy. Stays away from the others and away from me. Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

I've seen these in the LFS and they are sooo cool. Graceful pudgy things. lol I wanted one for my 180 but didn't have the money at that time and they since sold him/her. I've seen others, but I won't buy one I see munching on something that used to be alive, so I passed. Anyway, let me know what you decide.

I need to find a place for him and four of the cichlids. The two pictured and two of the smaller ones. Will take any reasonable offer on them (Trades are welcome). I'll try and get a photo of the other two.
