Evaporation Rate?

What is the evaporation rate of your tank?

I think I have my 215g figured at about 3.5-5 gallons a day....:eek:

My 125 with glass tops (one open at all times) looses around 7-8 gallons per week.

My 58 with glass top closed when not feeding, looses a gallon per week maybe.

My 150 with glass tops loses about 7-8 gallons a week, but tough to keep track cause my sump keeps my tank looking full.

My open top 33 looses maybe a .5 - 1 gallon per day :eek:

The open top 90 has an auto-topoff system :D

The 100g loses about 5-7 per week, the 30g loses maybe about 5, the 20g loses about 3 and 10g loses about 2.

It also seems to depend on the weather, where in the house they are located, lights etc....

180g No Top - ~10g a week
30g planted with tops ~ 1 gallon
30g no tops ~ 5 gallons per week
55g canopy but no tops ~ 5 gallons per week(when planted it seemed more like 10 gallons per week)
20H fry tank no tops ~3 gallons per week
20H planted with tops ~1 gallons per week

60 breeder closed lid... 1 gl week
30 gl w lid by window 1 gl week
30 gl w lid NOT by window .5 if at that

I have variances due to some of the tanks having UGF...and I love BUBBLES...so some ohave more than others....

these are of course estimates based on replacing just water that is missing... not often that happens... I just do by weekly water changes... MOST of the time...
