My 55gal is not very stimulating. To me at least. It is a South American tank with
2 keyhole cichlids ( 90% sure male and female)
1 angel
4 cories ( 3 panda and 1 skunk)
1 BN
1 L-102
Keyholes hide all of the time and I need something with color. Any suggestions?
I was thinking of a school of rummy nose or cardinal tetras to add some color and maybe get the keyholes out and about. I don't want to go overstocking or anything but I'd like something else...what you guys think?

Maybe some dwarf rainbows or something like that? Or a school of some nice tetras.
You could always go with the good adage of a crocodile or piranhas....

Do dwarf rainbows require special feeding? I heard they usually only take bloodworms etc.

I do not think so. I am pretty sure Joel does not do anything special for them....

My vote is for the Rummy Nose Tetras! They are so pretty and will really add some color!

Here are some pics of the tank. A little blurry, I was fighting with my camera (there are a couple of female bettas in there that will probably be moved, for those of you who find things in pics *coughs* Brandy*)

Kinda like when I was looking through house listings and saw a bra hanging from a towel rack in one of the pics.
Now, back on subject... I like the idea of a small schooling fish, like tetras. They would provide movement and color.

A school of Columbian Blue and Red Tetras would be nice....and large enough for the angel not to snack on. Mixed male Aussie Rainbows was also a nice option.

I find the little neon tetras to be colorful and neat to watch.
Exotic Aquatics in Plano (custer and park?) has them for $1.50,
and they are the really colorful ones, with nice deep reds and
full flourescent blue (not like the ones I've seen at petsmart).
I put 10 of them in my 75 gallon and just love to watch them school in
a line of 2 or 3 thick, I'm sure putting in some more soon.
$0.02.

I think either cardinals or rummy nose as far as tetras go would be good. Red and Blue Columbians are pretty, but I have never actually seen them. I have a feeling they would be hard to find.
I am thinking that I also want somthing larger...like maybe a blue acara, something with some color. or maybe just a couple more angels. maybe some wild altum angels? Not sure on their aggression though. any opinions welcome!!

If you like to get neon's...Petco has the 5 for 5 deal. 5 neons for $5.00
Rummy Nose are really great fish...very active and seem to school better than my neons.

okay, I think I am going to move my pair of angels from my 30 hex into the 55. I don't think the aggression will be too bad. Then I have the 30 hex free. What should I put in there??
