I'm looking to get the sand today but I have no clue what it is I should be looking for.
This will go in the 20 long with the shellies. I'd like a red or reddish color.

Should there be anything specific I'm looking for such as brand or grain size?

pool filter sand are only available in natural color. You may want to look at the 3M quartz to get different color options..
