very nice! how often are you changing the water? do you use dechlorinater when you do? any filtration or at least an air stone?

So far I have done one water change with Dechlor tap water that I let sit with a mixing pump for 24 hours, the rest has been all rainwater from the roof when we have our storms, no filtration just around 4-6 hours of good full sunlight.

That looks like one of my favorite hardy water lilies, 'Chromatella'. Is my guess right?

Add some mosquito fish to take care of those little pests and you are done!

I really dont know the name of the lily, they were given to me. I have that "pond" and another one right beside it that has not started to bloom yet but has larger lily pads and very little red coloration across the tops of the pads. Once it starts blooming I will post up some photos of it too.

I have some mosquito fish in one already and some sword tails in the other.

Here is the second tub with two pots of lilies in it. They started to bloom today.

This makes me want a tub pond! How big are those tubs?

I would say around 25 gallons give or take. I think that it all really depends on the plants that you start with. I tried this before and they didn't do nearly this well. I am starting on my new pond tomorrow and when it is done they are going in and I am going to try to track down a more blue and a more red flowered plants.
