Wanting to add to my fish family. Right now I have a twenty gallon tank with 3 platy. Had to move the two guppies back into the 10 gallon with the two female platy....long story. I also have and oto cat in the 20 g. i thought about adding dwarf gourami, I really like the color on some of those, mollies or something like that. Looking for fish that will get along with what I have but don't get more than a couple of inches long. Any advice!

gaouramis are a good choice....the platies will not snip at them....

a few in there would look good!

Yeah, but watch those Dwarf Gouramis...they can be dynamite in a small box!:D

I've had several Neon Dwarf Gouramis that have killed some of my more timid ones just for the sake of territory. Stand and watch and grab a few that are pretty timid. One of my three now is a little turd, chasing after the others and he's the smallest one, but he doesn't like anybody and he doesn't want anybody liking him! He does leave everyone else alone though...
The powder blue ones would be great, I've never had a problem with them, they just seem calmer and happy to swim and eat.

They're all great little guys though and I never can resist adding
them and will probably always have some. They're quite easily in my top 5 favorites.

Went to Pets Mart yesterday and picked up these guys. They seem to get along great with the others. We also picked up a lyre tail dalmatian molly and a silver sailfin molly.

nice!

I have no scientific data to back this up, but I had two once and one died natural causes and the other one appeared to get sad and mopey and it died too a few weeks later...they might get real attached to each other...again I have nothing to back that up lol

I would not add more then 2.... 2 may be a little much for a 20g. They will chase each other form time to time.

Cool fish.

They both seem to be doing well together. The one I worry about is the sailfin molly thats in the tank with them. He's a bully. May have to put him in the other tank. I would like to get a 30g for the gouramis, leave the platy and molly in the 20g and keep the 19 palty fry I have in the 10g. My partner just laughs at me. Says that I am offically addicted to the fish.
