So we always knew Wal-Mart selling fish was doomed...but what do you think happened a few months back with all those wall setups????
Those are valuable especially for someone like myself that wants to open a pet store one day...I have a DERAM...or was it DRAEM?

Did Wal-Mart stop selling fish?
I know some do and some don't....
You will see the setups pop up in different places, Craig's List, Paper, etc.....

I think some is the key word.
From what I heard they are not going to build new Wal-Marts with fish but in some demographics they are keeping the fish business.

Right. Mine here sells fish too. What about Petco on 15th street. They shut down 3/4ths of the tanks as they will not be selling the selection of fish they had been....what will they do with those tanks?!?

Well, they shouldn't be selling them if they aren't dedicated to it anyhow. Live fish cannot be sold like clothing or any other goods for that matter. Even the big box pet stores have to have a sufficient quantity of employees dedicated to fielding customers "pet questions".
That would be akin to Wal-Mart having employees wandering around passing out superlative advice on garment care, cooking advice for food or proper care & use of toasters, etc. They wanted to run the fish department just like the other departments, they just aren't willing to dedicate the resources to enterprises like that. It wouldn't be cost effective & they are the low buck experts.

I have heard those fish tanks from Petco get thrown away after theyve been dried out because the glue sucks.
