I wondered if is better in the lawn or down the garbage disposal....
After I got the Amecas the duckweed disappeared..... so that is what I did with mine....
My cichlids will also snack on it...
can you smoke it?! :hehe:

Supposedly Gold Fish love the stuff ;)
I know for sure the fish in my tank don't eat it, or at least don't eat eat faster than it can multiply!!! I'm pulling about a gallon's worth off every week

Yeah...I don't mind taking it. My fish ate all the duckweed Blake gave me....and I got a bag full from JFP and had to dispurse through my tanks so I could try to grow some myself. When I pop it in the big tank....that stuff disappears!
technically- the stuff you guys are talking about IS NOT Duckweed proper, it's in the family- but it's not "duckweed"

HI,
there's a store in Dallas that could order it for me... unless they were getting it from some private owner who happened to have some, I don't see how else they could sell it if it was illegal...
I didn't know you already picked some up blake... if you're the same blake I'm thinking of

The problem with "what the LFS" is selling normally is that several plants go by the same common name, but the Latin name is different.
Landoltia punctata is ban in Texas.

Also note:
Ambulia is on the "illegal" list. However the Latin name is for what most call Asian Ambulia ( Limnophila sessiliflora) which is different than what I have (Limnophila indica - which is not banned).
As a refresher, here's the list: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/species/exotic/#plant. (most of the plants are terrestrial)
