I was just trying to take some pics and one of my Rams is hanging out on the bottom. I saw him like that the other day and I wasn't too concerned but since he's still there and I'm beginning to worry. He looks fine, minus a long ray on his tail but he's kind of dragging his belly along on the bottom, just barely but he is on the bottom, and his tail isn't clamped but close. He's also staying in the back of the tank unless I serve dinner, he's still eating fine.
He's not an active player in the tank anymore and when someone swims by, he lifts up a little mostly to avoid contact with them.

Should I be worried about his health or could it have been a dominance issue that is to blame?

Thank you

Don't know much about rams, but I've got a black molly doing the same. I figure it's because she recently had 90 babies and is still trying to recoup, but I seriously am surprised she's still around. She eats and is fine otherwise. Just seems to not have energy to swim around.

Wish I could help out more.

Aw, I had guppies do that...babies take a lot out of them!

I'm wondering if he just got the snot kicked out of him but he's one of my bigger, more colorful males so I thought he'd be one of the tough guys...unless the other big, colorful male got to him.

Aw, sorry to hear that Chris!

I haven't seen anybody bothering him, but the females aren't bothered by him at all. Maybe he's a "swishy" male??;)
He's just happy as a clam back there...
