I am planning on moving some fish to a new tank and am looking for some advice. This was my plan let me know if it would work.

Currently I have 2 HOB filters on my 55g. I was going to take one and move it to the new tank since the 55 has been established for a year. Then add anew HOB to take its place, Then I was going to move a few gallons of water from the established 55 to the new tank once a day till it was 3/4 full. The new tabk is 20 gallons. I was going to fill the rest of the tank with new water. Will I have to wait for it to establish or will it be ready from the begining????

All the bacteria you need are in your canister filter, You should not have to re-cycle it.

I did the same with my 30 gallon, I filled it with 15 gallons from my main, I used the polishing pad from my canister filter and put it in the bio bag of the HOB, as you can see from the vid , no re cycle after 5 days of running it
Don't mine background sound keep forgeting to mute TV :D

I just took down a 70g and set up a 20 long and a 30 long.
The 70 had two filters on it so I used one each on the 20 & 30.
I also used the water from the 70 in both tanks and I put fish in both of them the same day.

Here's links to videos of both tanks:

And don't worry about the sound,
I replaced the BG noise with music.
