red tail shark compatible with breeding black convict pair?

Good luck.... not a lot goes good with convicts while breeding.

if you must (I wouldn't with breeding convicts) but make sure there are plenty of hiding places...

They get very aggressive during breeding and I personally wouldn't want anything else around them that I didn't want to keep around very long...

yea they get pretty pissy when breeding. How big is your tank? I have seen them in large long tanks that seem to do okay-ish with other fish, they just protected the crap out of one side of the tank.
