I have been looking all over the interwebz for information about the fish tank stand i have. Its called a Proquatics 75G Stain Oak stand.
The dimensions of the tank on it are 48x18x21. (75 gallon)
I found this tank:
http://www.glasscages.com/?sAction=OrderForm&sProdID=AQ_115
which is the same 48x18 part just taller. I was wondering if anyone knew if the stand I currently have would be able to support that large of a tank?

don't know if this helps

The former PetSmart label for store brand fish supplies was Proquatics

I think petsmart use to sell them stands also

On a side note a pic of the stand would help , I know there are lot of users on here that are good with wood that could tell you by just looking at it

Consider in water alone you are at 600 pounds for the 75 gallon and now you are adding an extra 320 pounds of water plus extra tank weight and decorations etc so you could be going from 800-900 pounds to 1200-1500 pounds.

Take your stand out in the garage (or outside) and load it with bags of cement or cinder block or anything else you can pre-determine the weight of.

Yes - Pictures of the stand may help also to see what it is made from and how it is constructed.

If you can contact the manufacture they may be able to help or they may choose the safe "no-liabilty" route and just say no.

Posting without pics makes it hard to answer. But my 220 has a 3/4 lumber directly under the load bearing part of the tank with 2 cross braces, have never woried about the weight.

Yea can't comment without pics of the frame work/ inside of stand. If it was commercially built for a 75 then it should hold the other tank with no problem. Well dang I commented anyway:hehe:
