literally!
Turned on the light on the 100 this morning and see that one of the loaches is AWOL (Joel, not one of your three!).
CRAP!
I'm praying he's not behind the stand cuz it's gonna be a @$%(&@ to get him out of there. So, I grab a flashlight and search. What the....!!! I can't find this fish anywhere!
OK, let's look closer at the tank. Nope, no fish bits floating around indicating that someone snacked on him.
Back to searching. Nothing... this fish has disappeared. I'm looking under furniture and all the way to the other side of the room. NOTHING. Dust bunnies and that's it!
Got things to do so have to give up the search for a bit.
This is making me nuts! Grab the flash light again and resume the hunt... WOW! That's a HUGE dust bunnie behind this chair. Hmmmm... that's a huge and oddly fish shaped dust bunnie!
Yeah, he flopped himself out of the tank and then flopped himself under a chair and then behind a chair. coating himself like some sick catfish nugget in the process.
Poor guy!

Wow! At least you found yours. We got 12 fishies for the 180 Saturday. Sunday, I could only find 11. Did the same as you.... Got the flashlight and searched everywhere but no fishy! No bits. No nothing! It's been driving me crazy!!! Hubby has searched. No luck. He just vanished. :(

ewwww great story though!
yesterday I woke up to get ready for work- Megan was runnin late and went straight to the shower. I pushed open Logan's bedroom door and groaned a "get up". Walked down the hall and turned on the kitchen light- still groggy headed, I pull out a Diet Coke and walk into the living room- tank lights still aren't on...what the hell??? Is that a slow moving rat on my living room floor?!!!
Nope- just an escaped crawfish that found his way down the hall, around the corner and down the other hall to the middle of the the living room. Stupid thing, should have been running AWAY from Peanut- not towards him. Funny thing- these are some of the biggest crawfish I've ever seen- when I picked him up he was cussin and ranting all the way back to his home tank.
I did buy 2 clown loaches the other day- neither one made it thru the night. :confuzeld:

I heard that you bought some monster crawfish!
Sorry about the loaches. Were they those tiny ones I saw when I was in JPF last week? I'd say bigger is better...I've never had good luck getting the littluns to live. I've got a 4-5" here if you want him! Super fat n happy.

I will warn you though... he's a sleeper. All of u sudden the 2 loaches in this tank started doing that. Freaked me right the hell out the first time I saw it. One was laying on his side, the other on his back, both on the bottom of the tank. I knocked on the glass and they both took off. Goofy fish!

Sorry to hear that!! I had my lobster get out and in the dark, I thought a dog tucked a present for me in the corner....nope, my lobster, dry and half dead. He did live though. Stupid lobster
yea- I thought about the perils of buyin small loaches before I pulled the trigger- but I want the tank to stay calm...so I figured the small guys were the way to go.
I'll take you up on the loach, when I can find a few minutes to do something for myself- I'll give you a holla. Megan's been slammed and I'm takin up the slack- all of it...:wha:

My lobster(crawfish) has never tried to escape. I did buy the CUTEST rainbow crab the other day. Impulse buy... didn't research. Got him home and he immediately started his run for freedom. Looked these guys up and discovered they are more land crabs. I don't have a set up for that so, I took him back.

Really? I paid big bucks for a huge one....and he didn't make it through the night.....I bought 9 when they were little and they have been fine. I guess its just hit or miss..........
