Thought I'd post here since he's kept w/monster fish. :) Just got him yesterday. It's a fully aquatic, 13" fly river turtle. He's in a 6'x4' tank.

Eats veggies & pellets. Previous owner stated bananas & kiwi were his fave fruits. Max size is 22". The wifey named him Aussie due to his origins.

Thanks for the kind words. He's leaving the tankmates alone so far. Just cruises around the tank. It's pretty awesome to see him gliding around.

Got him from peterp63 in Houston (who got him from a mutual friend in SA who had him for 8 yrs). FRTs are very expensive turtles for sure, but we got the 'friend' discount.

Looks awesome...I've had 3 oppt to buy an FRT and always turned away to the messines. I guess after owning an AUL where his poop is about the size of a pinkie, I turned away from big pooper LOL..
Nice pick up nonetheless
I love it! Can we see a full tank shot?

I'm going to move the pair of giant gouramis to the 240 gallon by themselves. They're dirtying the water like nobody's business. :o

I didn't get to look at the sump on the 6x4, but you might wanna try sock filters in the 100-200 micron range. These can do wonders in cleaning up the water. Stan can elaborate more, but that is what I plan on using on my 5x5 and my 215g sumps.

Got 2 big sock filters on there already. Not sure of their sizes, but it's probably time for a good rinsing.
Woah. Those guys are going to take over your neighborhood.
