It's been about 2 days now, but my blood parrots have a rock covered in tons of eggs. They both swim above it fighting off anyone coming close. That even means me getting to close to the glass. Ornery little buggers

any luck with fertile eggs? I know that most are infertile, but I have heard of some successful spawning.

i am interested in knowing if you do have any eggs that get fertilized.. what other fish do you have in the tank with the bps??? are the eggs turning white already???

I have several bps and want to breed them...I have JDs and BlckConvicts... trying to get something in there to do the nasty with each other...

please keep us posted..... mine have laid eggs...but everyone else in the tank thinks is it buffet time when that happens!!

They breed somehow....

I think USA Aquarium has got them to breed.... I know one of the LFS I go to up here has talked about getting them to breed.

They breed...about 99% of males are infertile... 85% of females are also... the trick in all this is what you breed them with...or if you can get another fish to fertilize the eggs.... such as a JD or Convict.... Or Red.....I forgot what others are used...

but yes the do breed...they do not grow out of Java Ferns!!! LOL.. hehehehehe

hahaha...

Yes, I heard they have a strain now that can breed. This is supposedly a succesful breeding stock. There is one male convict that fertilizes the eggs. He's real small and almost all white. He has a little orange on his belly sometimes and sometimes orange on his side. Weirdest little thing
