There's no such thing as controlling duck weed... LOL That's like saying you know how to nail jello to the ceiling and make it work... roflmao
ahh there is nothing to nailing Jello to the ceiling just need roofing nails and old hard jello.

I advise you to reconsider... b/c once it's in your tank, you will NEVER get rid of it...

It is illegal in Texas. When disposing of it one should be careful to throw it in the trash or in the yard where it will die and not down the toilett or sink where it can make its way into our local waters.

Not much is going to survive in the sewer and through the sewer plant...

I propagate duckweed in most of my tanks and feed it to my Koi. During non-feeding months I toss it in the compost bin.
It is possible to rid a tank of duckweed. It may take some work, but it is possible. IMO, various mosses and riccia are a bigger PITA.

Well, I know this is a year later, but do you still have duck weed? I'm looking to start a home project involving duckweed. I was hoping to get some from a local source. I live on Hemphill and Berry st. I am more than willing to help rid yourself of a bunch.

the giant duck weed is illegal but the normal duckweed isn't! giant duckweed grow a lot faster and bigger so a lot of fish can't eat them, but the normal duck weed is small so fish like goldfish, koi and some small fish can eat them very easy!

I used to net duckweed in the ponds around me and throw them into my kois, its free and the koi love it!
