So I got 3 big pieces of wood today and they float like a boat....big time.
Anyone have any tricks to make LARGE pieces sink?
I can't boil these (they are way too big). I tried to drill through tile and tie fishing line, but my drill bits will not go through the tile.
I will probably end up putting rocks leaning on them, etc or tying them off to rocks.
Any tricks out there that I haven't touched on?

X2 on what Sigmar said or what i have done in the past is Put a rock ontop of the Wood and in about 6months is should be water logged and sink. This is not a proven fact as some wood will Never sink. Attaching the slate to it is the True Proven way to make it sink.

Wrong Tim Daisy, the Tim mentioned on Joel's sig was a great member on this board who passed away recently.

Do I drill the front of the back (the polished side or the side with the grooves)?

Ahhh k guess I didn't understand, I don't use tile but natural slate. Don't trust whatever they may put in tile to make it.

Success.
I bought a diamond tipped bit and it wore out after three tiles...brutal.
Worked fine though. Went through the natural side.
