Messages and PMs

Messages - I will post a message and my message count will not change. This has occurred several times over the last 4-5 days. I know what combined messages are and this is not what is happening.

PM - I will send a PM and it will not show up in my SENT MESSAGES folder. The intended recipient never receives it either. I tried sending one member a PM 4 times this afternoon and none were sent or received, yet in between the 4 I was able to send another member a PM (and it showed up in SENT MESSAGES).

Any ideas as to a solution? Has anyone else experienced either of these problems? :confuzeld:

I just thought of something.

I often stay logged in from more than one location (pc/phone or pc/pc). Could this be the problem? :headscratch:

Doubt it - I am always logged on at both work and home and then use the computers at school to write and I don't THINK I have had a problem.

Copy of sent PMs is not a default option, you have to enable it from your user CP settings, try this link:

Some forums (Sump is one I think) don't increase post count. A mod or admin could let you know which ones do and don't.

Not sure on the PM problem.

Thanks for the link. I selected to save outgoing messages to my SENT folder. I wonder why it has previously saved some there and not others?

Some forums (Sump is one I think) don't increase post count. A mod or admin could let you know which ones do and don't.

I believe I may have posted one message in that forum since I've been a member. Maybe a MOD will chime in with info on which forums add to Post Count and which don't.

Post counts eventually show up. It may lag or look frozen for several days and then it catches up. I don't know why. Not sure on which posts count and which don't. I know the for sale posts don't count for newbies.

Any sub forum of the Fish Mongers section IE For sale, wanted, etc...

and The Sump.

Only Fish related forums will count towards your total.

Thanks for the explanation. This and the delayed count mentioned by Alta makes me feel better in knowing nothing is wrong on my end (except the obvious :twitch:).

As for the problem with PMs not being sent, I have not experienced this problem since I first mentioned it. Hopefully it's gone away.

Might have been full PM boxes. I know I just had to clear some 4 or 5 times recently :D.
