Anyone here have some? I saw some beautiful specimens at Dallas World Aquarium last month and was wondering if any of the local hobbiest are keeping them.

I have 3 of them.1 is white and 2 are gray. The local stores get them from time to time but they are hard to find.Last time I was there the store in Plano at Garden Ridge shopping mall had several grays. They are easier to find in Houston. There is a store next to Almeda Mall off I45 that usually has some.He has a huge one in his not for sale tank.

Since nobody else will put a photo up of an Osphronemus spp....here is my old male at 14". I have two males now at 7"+-both Osph. laticlavius. The gold ones at Petorama are Osph. osphronemus. The latter get bigger, but not too pretty when large.

What would be the minimum tank size for one of these monsters (any "classicied" as a gaint gourami)?

Ahhh...A 14 gallon ought to do, 14" fish = 14 gallons...besides fish only grow to the size of their habitat anyhow.:tease:LOL note the sarcasm
Fishman that's a sweet pic! Thanks for posting it!

I am not sure the last batch had were the Giant Gourami they looked a little different and were about 2" long. Most of the time I see them they are 4-5 and a different coloration.
