Both parents are unrelated electric blue gene x gold gene Jack Dempseys. Oh Boy! Fry! So far so good, they're taking really good care of them. The fry just started free swimming today. I have a 10 gallon fry tank for them... the question is... how do I get the near microscopic things into a different tank? Would syphoning them into a bucket and dumping (ok, gently dumping) them in said tank injure them? What's the best way?

You can see the parents standing guard really well on the third pics :)

then parents should take care of them till they are bigger, but if u really want them out u could siphone them out. ive done it before and im going to do it when i get some free time with my cons.
and i would like to buy a few when they get older

I'd like to take the "oopps, the parents ate the fry" element out of the equation. Not to mention the parents should get ready to have more sooner without the little guys in there :)
Guppy, I'll post on here if I don't screw things up and they make it to a sellable size. Hopefull there should be reg jds, electric blues, blue-golds, and golds in this spawn.

If that's the case, i would siphon them directly into the new tank. Be sure to you have already set up the new tank to match the water parameter of that of this tank so they will be less stress out.

Since I didn't have the space to set the fry tank up nearby, would syphoning them into a gallon jug, then letting them swim into the tank from the jug be close enough? The hose I have for this is 1/4", so bigger than airline tubing. Hopefully it won't damage them.
I'm waiting for the temp to adjust, then I'll going for it. Filter media came straight out of the parent's tank, so params should be dead on once the temp is right.

That should be fine, though I have used a larger hose. I have also used a turkey baster. The longer they stay with the parents the better chance for survival on their own when you do take them. Hopefully, the mother won't suck the babies into her mouth when you introduce the tubing. Good luck!
