What's the difference btw food for saltwater fish and for freshwater? I just received a lot of free salt water food from a guy at work and was curious about using it in my fw tanks.

It will be fine. I have fed my babies marine food when I can find it on sale somewhere. No problems. The saltwater fish have the same nutritional needs as our freshwater guys. It has basically the same proteins, carbs, vitamins and such. Feed away!

Why is it marketed differently? and yep they're eating it up.

I have seen times when it was necessary. When I had my large tank(which I don't now)it was set for salt and I had one fish that you may be familiar with,a moorish idol, and one of their main foods are sponges. With him I found it necessary to buy a type of saltwater food to keep him healthy.
