I am starting a community tank and just wanted some feedback. I have some Guppies and platty's now but want to add some mollies but have been told they will become territorial and nip on the fins of Guppies? Is that true? What are some good tank mates gor Guppies/Platy's? any suggestions on a catfish to keep things tidy and not eat my fish.

How big is the tank you are going to use to
house all of the fishies?

The tank is a 55 gallon and right now there are only 7 fish in it. Its been up for about a month.

Most catfish will eat your community fish.I think cory cats might be ok

Cory cats are definalty good I have two in one tank and one in each of the two other tanks no problems at all.Honeybee catfish are good, but tend to hide 95% of the time. Lastly I have a raphael striped catfish which tends to be docile as well.

If you need an algae eater, I would suggest one of the bristlenose types. Neons, cardinals, danios, and rasboras are all good choices. Be careful of the tetras as some of them can be fin nippers.

I agree with the neons and cardinals.I have 8 neons and 2 cardinals all schooling together with my angelfish with no fin nipping.
