Trouble registering on APC

I hope it isn't rude to ask a question about joining another fourm. For six months I have been trying to register at Aquatic Plant Central. Every time I try, I get the same error message: "Sorry, we cannot complete your registration at this time." I have even sent emails to the site administrator with no response.

Any idea what is going on?

You might contact Niko on this site. He is the local chapter president for the APC.

This was their response -

"Send a PM to an Admin (sanjay or Cavan Allen). You'll need that person's user ID that they are trying to register under (I think). I'll forward it up as well.

OH, and ask him to make sure that APC is not being blocked by his email filters (being marked as junk mail, etc... ). In order to complete registration, there is an email that he has to respond to (to make sure he's not a computer trying to take over the world http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif ).

Please let me know what user name you registered and also if you ever got the confirmation email and followed the instructions there. Then I'll PM one of the mods.

Thanks, Ayla. Actually I never get far enough to enter a user ID, or any other information--I get the error message as soon as I hit the "register" button.

Of course I never received an email since I never got to enter an email address. My filters send questionable mail to a junk folder which I review daily, so I would catch any legitimate email that was sent there by mistake.

I really do appreciate you taking the trouble to look into this. Just let me know what I need to do from my side.

I just tried again. Here is the response verbatim:

ok I let them know that you can't even get to the username step of the process. I will let you know what they say.

In the meantime, you might try registering from a different browser or turning off any special browser add ons like noscript, ad-blockers, etc if you have them.

Who is the mod you are talking with? We have had this issue before on APC. I'm not sure what the bugs are but hopefully we'll have you on soon.

Michael, please let me know the username you would like to use and your email address. They will manually create the account for you. Then, you can log in and change the password to whatever you want it to be. You can leave the info here or PM it to me.
