shrimp going for a ride

I was watching my small planted tank last night that has duck weed covering the top, Thanks Chris :rolleyes1:, and noticed that several of my shrimp where hanging from it and going for rides as it would pass in front of the filter. Is this "normal" for shrimp to do? :confuzeld:

Don't know if it's normal, but sure sounds like fun!

do you have a lid on this tank? If so, I wouldn't worry about it.

If not, get one. Shrimp are jumpers...or at least the shrimp that I feed jump like crazy.

Yes it has a lid, I was just courious if anyone else has seen it before? Problably not unless Chris suckered them in as well.

I haven't seen mine doing this, but the tank that they're in doesn't have Amazon Frogbit in it. I'll watch 'em closer to see if they're on the plant leaves that are in the filter's flow.

Mine do it as well. Even my Bamboo shrimp will hang on to anything floating to ride around the tank.

David, I forgot what kind of shrimp you have. I want to get some soon! They were so cute. It's amazing I saw them through all those nice plants that Chris gave you....roflmao

I have cherry reds and blue berry shrimp. I got both from Canh at Just for Pets.

I pulled all my duckweed out- you guys suck at tank maintenance. :hehe:

I think you should have to clean our tanks as penalty for the vile duckweed.
